GRAND ANGLE NOMINATED FOR THE INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR THE CONVERSION OF OFFICES TO RESIDENTIAL USE

Axe Immobilier is proud that Grand Angle is among the eight projects selected for the 2nd edition of the international prize for the transformation of offices into residential use. This event, co-organised by the Paris - Greater Paris Region Economic Capital (Paris - Greater Paris Region Regional Chamber of Commerce) and the Greater Paris Region Maison de l'Architecture, recognises exemplary conversion projects in France and throughout the world.

A pioneer in the transformation of offices into housing since 1995 in Paris (rue Lamartine, in the 9th arrondissement), Axe Immobilier has joined forces with Hubert Godet architects (a project led by Jessica Defrancq) to give a new lease of life to an obsolete office building located at 146 boulevard Voltaire, in Asnières-sur-Seine (Hauts de Seine)

Delivered at the beginning of 2018, Grand Angle is now home to 55 families and a "les petits boss" micro-crèche, in a 3,300 sq m building with "BBC renovation" and "Promotelec responsible renovation" certifications.

For more than three years, this development has contributed to the urban renewal of Asnières-sur-Seine, to the great satisfaction of its residents and the city of Asnières. This entirely private project was designed and built without any public financial support, proving that such a transformation is possible when a city council, eager to welcome new families, and a creative developer, intent on creating the best housing while conserving a structure that is only 20 years old, join forces.

Improving and reusing existing buildings to create housing, while limiting densification : this is the best way to give a piece of land and a building the most beneficial use in the city of tomorrow.

This is why we have designed this conversion into an ecological, understated, modern and elegant residential complex. A frugal conversion, since the conservation of the structure will have saved 330 tons of carbon, compared to the demolition/reconstruction of a project of equivalent size.

This is also why we are convinced that, today, when office life is changing and families need housing, many other conversion projects could be successfully implemented, particularly in the Greater Paris Region.

The finalist projects will be presented at the exhibition of the Greater Paris Region Maison de l'Architecture (Ancien Couvent des Récollets, 148 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin, 75010 Paris) between 20th October and 20th November 2021 : we invite you to come and see them, in order to understand the goals of Grand Angle and the urban issues involved in the transformation of offices into residential use. The prize-giving ceremony, presided over by the President of the Greater Paris Region, as well as the exhibition opening cocktail will take place on Wednesday 20th October 2021 at 7pm at the Greater Paris Region Maison de l'Architecture.
